Excited, enthusiastic, satisfied, overwhelmed. No other words can describe better the feeling amongst the coordinators after their visit on September 16th and 17th to some of the sport sites and hotels that will be used during next year’s 21th edition of the Summer Games in Ghent.
What they saw and heard was for them the confirmation that the organisers have, infrastructure-wise, all they need to deliver quality games. But still it will be a hell of a challenge for the city of Ghent and the Flemish Federation for Company Sport to live up to the high expectations. Given their knowledge and their past experiences in organising mass events, there is no doubt that the next games will please all participants.
Regarding the booking of rooms, the director of the local umbrella hotel organisation had an important advice for the coordinators: tell your teams who want to book any type of accommodation to contact directly the hotel management of the place you want to stay at instead of going through a travel agency. This will save time and most of all money and will guarantee your booking.
