ASSOCIATION SPORT FOR ALL SERBIA AND EFCS, A PERFECT MATCH !

The 14th edition of the European Winter Games were held in Kopaonik, Serbia from March 21st to March 25th 2018 with the support of the Association Sport for All Serbia.

KOPAONIK 2018, A SUCCESSFUL EDITION

Put the words fun, joy, friendship, hospitality and great winter sport conditions together and you immediately think of last week’s held 14th edition of the European Company Sport Winter Games in the superb Serbian winter sport resort of Kopaonik. Around 800 participants from 15 countries attended the games.

 

Adding to that the great move by the organizers and EFCS Sport Management to jointly organize the Serbian Ski Festival and the EFCS European winter company sport games, it hardly comes as a surprise that the 14th games have come up to expectations and that all active sportsmen and sportswomen left Kopaonik very satisfied.

 

CAN STRBSKE PLESO IN SLOVAKIA DO BETTER IN 2020?

The 2020 European Winter Games will be help in Slovakia in the region of the High Tatras. The city of Strbske Pleso will be the hotspot being the highest town in the area.

 

The town is no stranger to international competitions hosting in 1970 the Cross-country Ski World Championship. Today, the ski resort holds 24km of slopes with modern cable-cars to reach the entire ski domain and high quality accommodation.

EFCS INVITED TO THE EU SPORT FORUM 2018

EFCS was invited as guest-speaker the EU Sport Forum, unique opportunity for sport organisations to meet policy makers and representatives of the EU institutions and of the Member States.

Didier Besseyre, President fo the EFCS, accompanied of Musa Lami, General Secretary, and Guy de Grauwe, Vice-president, were welcomed in Sofia (BL) for the EU Sport Forum. This European meeting is "the place to be" for European sport.

 

THE EU SPORT FORUM

The EU Sport Forum is the main platform for structured dialogue between the European Commission and sport stakeholders. The Forum's main objective is to take stock of progress achieved in implementing the EU agenda for sport and to seek stakeholders’ views on current and planned/possible future activities.

EFCS AS GUEST-SPEAKER

EFCS President Didier Besseyre took the stage to address company sport as a whole discussing its development and implementation throughtout Europe. Various initiatives have been undertaken all over Europe continuously expanding with the latest European Project targeted to company sport, EMoCS - European Meetings of Company Sport.

EFCS President also conducted a round-table on company sport and its implementation during the EU Sport Forum.

EFCS TO CONDUCT EMOCS PROJECT

EMoCS - European Meetings of Company Sport - is the latest European project EFCS will conduct with several partners under the impulsion of Erasmus + and EWoS - European Week of Sport.

EMoCS aims to promote voluntary activities in sport, together with social inclusion, equal opportunities and awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity through increased participation in, an equal access to, sport for all and more over in the workplace.

EMoCS also strives to pass on concrete inputs and contributions to create other initiatives such as a label or certificate for European companies.

EMoCS MAIN OBJECTIVES

Raise awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity within or around the workplace
Identify and provide private and public decision makers concrete tools and solutions to support company sport development
Create a certification framework for an Active Workplace Label (AWL)

PASS PROJECT: PROMOTING PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IN EUROPE

The PASS Project - Physical Activity Serving Society Project, inspired by the Design to Move campaign, has for main goal to propose political and strategic actions in order to promote physical activity in Europe.

The PASS Project is carried out by Sport & Citoyenneté and co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

S2A-SPORT 8TH FULL PARTNER MEETING OFFICIALLY CLOSES THE PROJECT

The 8th and final S2A-Sport FPM took place in Paris on the 29th of January 2018 and was hosted by the European Federation for Company Sport. It gathered all partners with the aim to officially sign off Intellectual Outputs 1 to 6, agree content for Step 7 – so that they could all go into the design phase and then be made publicly available- and explain requirements and contribution of partners to the final report which is due to be submitted in April 2018. In addition, objectives also included discussion of next steps towards sustainability and future actions in order to ensure the use of the valuable tools developed as part of the project, in particular, the Occupational Standards and the user-friendly training manual to help sport organisations develop their team.
